a picture is worth a thousand words

Happy Birthday Rylee. ......
Little Miss Rylee Kezia Brooksby, somedays I'm unsure what I am gonna do with myself, after dealing with some of the things you do. This picture is how we started your birthday. You chose to enter the ripe young age of 5 years old, with a bang. On August 23, daddy and I did our usual bedtime routine, and had you and your brothers in bed by 8:15. We THOUGHT you were sleeping soundly when around 10:00 you came down stairs and informed me that you had swallowed a quarter. Me, being the most intelligent mother out there, told you to go back to bed, and we would see the quarter come out the next day (which would be your birthday) about 10 minutes after you had gone back to bed, daddy and I could hear you sobbing in your room. I sent daddy to check on you, because Lilly was being fed at the moment. You told daddy that your back hurt way bad. We decided it was in your best interest to go to the hospital. Thankfully daddy took you (I had been horribly sick that day, throwing up, dizzy, stomach ache...the works). When you got to the hospital they took an x ray, and sure enough, there was a quarter lodged in you. The doctors actually had though you aspirated it, and it was in your lungs. Scary moment for daddy when he heard that news, and a scary moment for mommy when daddy told me that news. Thankfully, they called in a specialist for a second opinion. Doctor Kuddu determined it wasn't in your lungs! Thank goodness! Around 2:00 AM you were taken to the OR to have the quarter removed from your esophogus. It was an extremly long night for daddy and I. Daddy said at the strike of midnight all the nursing staff and doctors made a big fuss because it was your birthday. You came home with lots of stickers, pencils, color books, story books, and a game of go fish. I'm pretty sure they spoiled you. You seem to be doing really well now, and have told me countless times, that you will never eat money again. Lesson learned :)
I love you so much little miss. You are such a bright spot in our family. You are sassy and smart. You have an endless love for your siblings. You are caring. You love to dance and sing. You love preschool. You love to read. I'm pretty sure that you are entirly obsessed with Barbies right now, and thats ok, because I love to hear your imagination. You have the most stunning blue eyes. I get people commenting on them all the time. You have a sweet giggle. Daddy is wrapped around your little finger, and anything you say or do, melts his heart. You love your snuggles from daddy every night. You are very strong willed and stubbern at times. You love church. You have a growing testimony of the gospel. I love when you talk about Jesus. Melts my heart.
I love you Rylee. Happy 5th birthday!

I felt so bad for letting her have all the change in the laundry room. I'm glad that she will never eat money again... our little redheaded princess. Imagine just what she will teach her new little sis.
