These pictures are from JULY when I went into preterm labor with Lilly. I was 33 weeks pregnant. That day was such a blur. I went to my doctor on a Monday, and told him I had been having mild contractions. He 'checked' me and I was dilated to a 1. He also did a FnN test. He told me to go home, and when he go the results of the FnN test he would call me. If the test was positive, it would indicate that preterm labor was starting, and we would have to start steriod shots. Well I went about my daily task, and that afternoon I took my kids out to the pool. Around 2:00 my cell phone rang and it was my doctor. The test was positive. At 3:00 I went in to get my steriod shot, it burns horribly bad. Not exaggerating. It was awful. I was told to come back 24 hours later, on Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday. These shots are to help stregthen the baby's lungs. Just because the FnN test was positive, means that I could go into preterm labor in the next 2 weeks. It wasn't a gurentee, the steriod shots are just a precaution that the doctors take. Anyways, on Wednesday I went to get the shot, and had been having pretty steady contractions so I told my doctor this. He 'checked' me again, and I was at a 3. He sent me to L&D, where I would spend the next 4 days. Once I got checked into the hospital, and hooked up to the monitors, we realized my contractions were coming every 4 minutes and were pretty intense. It took 12 doses of nifedipine to even slow down the contractions, and then another 6 doeses to completly stop the contractions. I had to continue taking nifedapine every 4 hours 2 pills to keep the contractions stopped. I stayed in the hospital to be monitored for a few days, but I eventually went home on bedrest. Thank goodness Lilly stayed put.

My wonderful hubby stayed at my side, almost the entire 4 days. He left to check on the kiddos (who stayed with my amazing family, Kourt and Kamill back and forth), eat and shower. I was not in the mood for pictures, but I am glad he took them regardless :)
I wouldn't look at the camera. I was tired and exhausted and had shed many tears the first few hours I was at the hospital. I was introduced to the NICU team, and was instantly brought back to the time I had Boston early, and what a nightmare it was. Not something I was prepared to do all over again.
