a little more~

So, I have a few things to update on, and I need ideas badly! I have been doing daycare out of my home, which is going great! I love it 85% of the time. The other 15% I grin and bare it, - but I think thats how most jobs are ya know? I think every job has some bad days...
anyways- the little boys I watch (yes all boys so far..so if you know any girls...send 'em my way!) are adorable. There are special little qualities that I love about each one. I think if I were handed enough money to pay all our debts off, I would still want to tend, because I love these little kids. Its a pretty fun job, and its letting me stay at home with my babies!
Well, we try to do a craft 3 days a week. Something fun and cute. I need ideas. I am running out. Here is what we did this week! Some of them are turned sideways...sorry! Tuesday we did the Rhino Craft- its a chart to remind us to brush our teeth... Wednesday we did the old lady who swallowed the fly song...we made an old lady and all the animals, and as we sang the song, we made her swallow the animals- the kids loved this one! Today we made the little tiger. Help?!?!? Any ideas???

wow meg you are such a great babysitter. If I needed someone to watch my kids I'd want someone as creative as you!

I think you are doing a great job! I need to get some ideas from you. I need to start doing crafts with Easton, that sounds fun

Meg, I gotcha covered! I have TONS of ideas for you...the only thing is that most of my stuff is over in Enterprise in my classroom, so here goes my memory...

*Save your empty toilet paper rolls. Let the kids decorate them with markers/crayons. Take different colors of ribbon or just one color and tape multiple strings of ribbon out one end of the toilet paper roll and you have made a streamer! Kids love to play with them and you can think of tons of games to play with them, too. You can add ribbon to both sides and you have made a firework! We did this for the 4th of July one year when I worked at a daycare - so fun!

*Get the book "The Rainbow Fish" and read it. Then let the kids draw a picture of a fish and they have to include the details of the scales. Give them one silver sequin to add to their fish and they have made their own rainbow fish that learned to share with his friends in the story.

*Another patriotic one. Get black construction paper and different colors of glitter. Let the kids use glue to draw fireworks on their paper and then add glitter. You can also fold the paper in half and let the kids take glue and from the center of the page do only half of the firework and then fold the paper closed to demonstrate symmetry, open it and there should be the full firework then add the glitter.

*Get water color paints. Let the kids paint a sunset on their paper. Then take black construction paper and cut out a sillhouette of a desert scene, but it has to be in one single line (I hope that makes sense). Then glue the sillhouette onto the sunset and it looks awesome! I have my students do this every year and they always love it!

I have more ideas if you need them, but hopefully that will help. Also, there are a ton of websites you can find activities. Go to yahoo or google search and then type in something like preschool activities and I swear your options are limitless! I think the stuff you made is adorable though! Good job.
